Steps for proofreading (스스로 교정하기의 단계)

▶Proofread: to read and correct mistakes in (a written or printed piece of writing)

글쓰기를 한 후에 본인의 글을 읽으면서 문법적으로나 맥락상 어색한 것 등을 수정하는 것을 교정한다고 해요.

아래 주요포인트 들을 확인하고 자신의 글을 교정하면 글이 더 명확해지고 문법적 오류가 줄어들어요~

작문 하고 나서는 꼭 Proofreading을 하면서 글의 정확성을 높여주세요.

1. 쓴 문장이 Fragment(incomplete sentence)인지 아닌지 확인

영어에서는 한 문장에 꼭 1개의 주어- 1개의 서술어(동사)가 필요함.

 

2. 주어-동사의 일치 여부 확인

e.g) My sister is married. (단수)

My sisters are married. (복수)

My brother and I are single. (복수)

※ 주어- 동사 일치가 헷갈리는 구문 정리

형태	예문
(1) There is+ 단수 (명) / There are+ 복수 (명)	There is a student. There are three students.
(2) One/ Neither/Much/Every/Each/ Either/Nothing/Anyone/Anything + 단수 (동)	One of my brothers is a musician. Neither of my parents is living. Much of my time is spent. Every cookie is made by my mother. Each of my brothers wants his own car. Either of my sisters is able to baby-sit. Nothing ever happens in my life. Anyone is home.
(3) 항상 복수 동사가 오는 경우 Both/Several/ Many + 복수 (동)	Both (of my parents) are teachers. Several (of the teachers) speak my language. Many (of my friends) work in the library.
(4) 명사구에 따라 단수동사/복수동사가 바뀌는 경우 Some/All/ Most/ A lot/None + 셀 수 없는 명 +단수 (동) 셀 수 있는 명 +복수 (동)	Some (of the money) was missing. Some (of the students) were missing. All (of my time) is spent. All (of my brothers) are singers. Most (of the ice) was melted. Most (of the ice cubes) were melted. A lot (of the work) was too easy. A lot (of the people) were angry. None (of the fruit) is fresh. None (of the apples) are fresh.
